This concert ukulele has a fair few stories to tell...
The Barnes & Mullins musical instrument company was founded by a banjo duo in 1895; a pair of musicians who were particularly fond of Gresse Street in London (we reckon it was the Bricklayers Arms...) hence this ukulele's nickname The Gresse.
As far as the present day is concerned, this uke has a solid spruce top which provides a tone we have difficulty describing: it's just really, really nice!
The spalted maple back and sides help this uke to look the part too while the gloss finish is smooth to the touch and very shiny!
